Donald J. DeShaw
Vice President, Corporate Legal and General Counsel, Safeco Insurance
Don DeShaw serves as General Counsel for Safeco. In this position, he is responsible for serving the legal needs of the personal lines organization.
DeShaw joined Safeco in 1985, and in his initial assignment worked as a casualty claims adjuster. He also worked in the Staff Legal organization as a litigator, and later managed Staff Counsel offices in San Francisco and Sacramento. Prior to his current position, DeShaw was the attorney for the Claims organization and was responsible as well for claim related litigation.
DeShaw holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law.
