Shortly after Safeco policyholder Bob Blucher's home in Baytown, Texas, was completely destroyed by Hurricane Ike in September 2008, our catastrophe response team was on hand to document the devastation. Click the image at left to see the damage the storm left behind. Three months later, we received this email from Bob, praising us for our excellent service:

"Although '08 was an extremely rough year for me and my family, I just wanted you to know that Safeco has proved to be a real blessing, and particularly John Krueger.

"While I hear stories about people who are still waiting on responses or were offered extremely low settlements, I have already been paid timely and fairly for everything. John warned me right away that he was 'tough but fair.' I have found this to be the case. He is a great representative for your company. He always returned my many phone calls and emails timely and showed the utmost respect for my needs and concerns and has gained my respect.

"It was nice to have someone I could trust in a situation that I did not completely understand. I had many of my friends and business associates in the legal profession ready and willing to come to my aid, free of cost, but none of that was necessary only because of the way John handled my claim.

"In February, I will be changing my car insurance to Safeco and when I acquire a new home this year, I will be looking to your Company for a new homeowners policy."
